Honey Milk Bread
  1. Warm the milk to lukewarm

  2. Add yeast and mix together all wet ingredients in a bowl

  3. Whisk the egg before combining

  4. Add the bread flour gradually and mix until a soft dough forms

  5. Rest the dough (covered) for about 15 minutes

  6. Continue kneading until the gluten has started to develop and the dough comes together

  7. Add salt and knead for 2-3 more minutes till the dough passes a light windowpane test

  8. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour

  9. Gently shape into a loaf

  10. Place into a buttered 9x5 loaf pan

  11. Cover and let rise until puffy but still slightly springy when pressed, about 20-30 minutes

  12. Preheat oven to 350F

  13. Whisk the egg wash ingredients together and brush lightly over the loaf

  14. Bake for 30-35 minutes

  15. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove and cool completely before slicing
