Martha Stewart's Stovetop White Rice
  1. Wash the rice grains thoroughly until water runs clear and drain well. Optimally Soak rice for 30 minutes to reduce glucose spike.

  2. Melt the butter in a pot

  3. Bring the water to a boil

  4. Add the washed rice and salt to the boiling water

  5. Stir and bring to a boil again

  6. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover the pot, and set timer for 16 minutes

  7. Remove from heat and let steam covered for 10 minutes

  8. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve
