Melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips over a pot of simmering water.
Spread the melted chocolate into a parchment-lined 9x13 inch baking dish.
Wait for the chocolate to harden slightly, but not set completely.
Melt the white chocolate.
Stir in 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract.
Spread the white chocolate mixture over the semi-sweet chocolate layer.
Crush some candy canes and sprinkle them over the white chocolate layer.
Let the peppermint bark set or refrigerate it until set.
