Chunky Pork Belly Takikomi Gohan
  1. Cut the pork belly into bite-sized pieces, marinate in the marinade for a while, then pan-fry until golden brown (it doesn’t need to be cooked all the way through at this stage)

  2. Add the washed rice to a rice cooker or pot, then add the seasoning, pork belly, roughly chopped leek, julienned ginger and water, and cook as you normally would for plain rice

  3. If using a rice cooker, after adding the seasoning, fill with water to the marker before adding the other ingredients

  4. Once cooked, mix everything together and serve

  5. If you prefer a stronger flavour, add a splash of soy sauce after cooking
