Wash the Rice
Add the rice to the rice cooker pot and rinse it thoroughly until the water runs mostly clear.
Add Water & Seasoning
Add water using a 1:1 ratio with the rice (adjust to your preference).
Pour in the soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Stir gently to combine.
Add the Beef
Place thinly sliced beef evenly on top of the rice mixture. No need to stir — the beef will cook nicely on top.
Cook
Close the lid and start the rice cooker on a regular white rice cycle. Let it cook fully.
Finish & Serve
Once it's done cooking, add a small cube of butter and mix everything together gently.
Optional toppings: Add corn, black sesame seeds, or chopped green onions for extra flavor and color. (Skip these if serving picky eaters — like my son!)
