For the marinade:

MARINADE
Add all the marinade ingredients to a mixing bowl and mix well. Add the chicken and fully coat in the marinade.
MARINATE
Cover the mixing bowl and marinate in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours, or at least 30 minutes.
COOK
Grill over medium heat until the internal temperature reaches 170F (about 10 minutes). Alternatively, the chicken can be cooked at 400F for 12-15 minutes in an air fryer or 25-30 minutes in the oven. Give the chicken a flip halfway through.
HEY-MAMI SAUCE
Add the olive oil to a preheated skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and cook until fragrant, then turn the heat to low. Add the remaining ingredients, except the chili peppers. Mix well and then bring to a low simmer for 10 minutes. Mix in the chili peppers.
COAT
DIRECTIONS
Add the cooked chicken to the pan and fully coat it with the sauce.
