In a bowl, rub the lemon zest with the granulated sugar using your hands for about a minute
Whisk in the rest of the wet ingredients: butter, eggs, vanilla, yogurt/sour cream, milk, and lemon juice
Add in the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder and salt. Gently mix everything until well combined (do not overmix)
Transfer to a greased and lined loaf pan (8x4 or 9x5)
For 8x4 pan: Bake loaf at 180°C or 350°F for 37-40 minutes
For 9x5 pan: Bake loaf at 180°C or 350°F for 33-35 minutes
After baking, pour the lemon syrup while the loaf is still in the pan
Let the loaf cool before adding the glaze
