Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, mixing until just combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.
Drop by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
