Bread Krucken
  1. Scald milk and cool to lukewarm.

  2. Dissolve yeast in ¼ c. warm water.

  3. Add sugar, salt, eggs, butter and 2 c. flour. Beat well.

  4. Add enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.

  5. Knead for 2 minutes.

  6. Place in greased bowl, cover and let rise until double, about 1 hour.

  7. Punch down and let rise again.

  8. Divide dough into 12 equal pieces.

  9. Roll each piece into a rope about 12 inches long.

  10. Form into a pretzel shape and place on greased baking sheet.

  11. Cover and let rise until double, about 30 minutes.

  12. Bake at 400°F for 12-15 minutes.
