Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Drain and cover with foil to keep warm.
Meanwhile, heat the oil and butter together in a large saucepan or high-sided skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until soft. Add the garlic, red pepper flakes, oregano, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon black pepper and cook for 30 seconds. Add the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in the pasta and half-and-half and cook for 1 minute to heat through. Season to taste with salt and black pepper.
Serve with parmesan cheese on the side.
