Easy Homemade Bread
  1. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the bread flour, instant yeast, and salt.

  2. Add wet ingredients: Pour in warm water (and sugar/honey + oil if using). Mix until it forms a rough dough.

  3. Knead the dough: On a lightly floured surface, knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. First rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise for 1–2 hours, until doubled in size.

  5. Shape: Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet.

  6. Second rise: Cover again and let it rise for 30–45 minutes, until puffy.

  7. Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown and it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  8. Cool: Let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing.
