Cheese And Bacon Butter Bath Scones
  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).

  2. Place the flour in a large bowl. Add the cold butter and use your fingertips to rub it into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

  3. Stir in the cheese and bacon.

  4. Add the milk and use a butter knife to mix until a soft dough forms.

  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead a few times.

  6. Pat the dough into a 2cm thick round. Use a 5cm round cutter to cut out scones, pressing straight down without twisting.

  7. Place the scones in a baking dish and pour over 60g melted butter.

  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

  9. Serve warm.
