Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
Butter one side of each slice of bread.
Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, onto the skillet.
Layer each slice of bread with 2 slices of cheddar cheese, 2 slices of Swiss cheese, 4 slices of cooked bacon, and 2 tablespoons of dill pickle slices.
Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
Cook the sandwiches for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute before slicing.
