Place the pitted dates in a saucepan with a splash of boiling water. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the dates soften and stick together.
If there's excess water left in the pan, drain it, then let the dates cool for a couple of minutes.
Add the dates, almond butter, coconut oil, and raw cacao powder to a food processor. Blend for 1–2 minutes until a sticky, smooth paste forms.
Line a 25cm (10-inch) baking dish with parchment paper. Spread the mixture evenly into the dish, pressing it down firmly with a spatula.
Place the dish in the freezer for at least 3 hours or until the fudge is fully set.
Remove from the freezer and let the fudge soften for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
