Saute garlic in canola oil and add spices to bloom. Cook on medium heat for 30 seconds.
Add sliced peaches and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat. Peaches will break down while cooking. Stir occasionally.
Add 1 cup water, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer.
Simmer sauce for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Using an immersion blender or heat-safe blender to blend sauce.
Whisk together cornstarch and water. Add slurry to barbecue sauce and allow to thicken.
