Peel onions and cut them in half. Separate the layers to make shells.
In a bowl, mix ground beef, cheddar cheese, chopped bacon, salt, pepper, paprika, chili flakes, and BBQ sauce.
Take two onion layers and fill the center with the beef mixture. Press another layer around it to form a ball. Repeat.
Place on a baking tray. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35–40 minutes until fully cooked.
Brush with extra BBQ sauce in the last 5 minutes for extra flavor (optional).
