French Onion Ground Beef Casserole
  1. Try forming individual portions and topping with cheese.

  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  3. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.

  4. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.

  5. Add the sliced onions and cook for 20–25 minutes, stirring often, until deeply caramelized.

  6. Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

  7. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into crumbles.

  8. Drain excess fat if necessary.

  9. Season with salt, pepper, thyme, and Worcestershire sauce.

  10. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and stir well.

  11. Pour in the beef broth and simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.

  12. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish.

  13. Sprinkle the Swiss cheese, mozzarella, and Parmesan evenly over the top.

  14. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  15. Broil for 2–3 minutes for a golden-brown top, if desired.

  16. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
