Shortbread
  1. Cream the butter and sugar.

  2. Add sifted flour and salt and knead very well until smooth.

  3. Spread in a biscuit tray approximately 38 x 26 centimetres in size.

  4. Bake at 300ºF for 1 hour.

  5. Sprinkle with castor sugar after removing from oven and cut into pieces while still warm.
