Trim the excess fat from the chicken. Transfer it to a mixing bowl or a large baggie and pour the marinade ingredients over it. Give it a good mix to make sure all of the chicken gets covered. Put in the fridge for at least 1 hour, but 24 hours would be the most ideal for maximum flavor.
Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees. Place the chicken on wooden skewers that have been soaked in water. Air fry for about 12 minutes. Flip them, then cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until internal temp reaches 165 degrees.
While the chicken is cooking mix the ingredients for the buttery topping.
When the chicken is done cooking, brush the buttery topping generously over each piece and enjoy!
