Let pork chops come to room temperature for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 425° F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine all seasoning rub ingredients (brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, dried thyme, onion powder, salt and black pepper) in a small bowl. Whisk or stir until well blended.
Rub seasonings over all sides of pork chops and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Cut the butter into 4 thin 'pats' and place one pat of butter on top of each pork chop.
Bake for 18-25 minutes, until an instant read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the pork chops not touching the bone registers 145° F.
Let pork chops rest for 5 minutes and then serve.
