In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add the lukewarm water and milk, stirring to form a sticky dough ball. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 6-8 minutes. Place the dough in a clean, oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for at least 2 hours.
Deflate the dough, coat lightly with oil, and place in a butter-greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Remove the cover from the dough. Apply an egg wash or cooled melted butter, then bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown.
Transfer the bread to a cooling rack, brush with melted butter, and let cool for 30 minutes before slicing. Enjoy!
