Outback Blooming Onion
  1. Keep the root of the onion in tact. Slice off the top and peel.

  2. Quarter the onion face down then quarter again once or twice more depending on the onion.

  3. Let it sit in ice water while you make the batter.

  4. Mix flour, seasonings and water until a thick batter forms.

  5. Remove onion from ice water and dry thoroughly.

  6. Dip in batter and try to cover every crevice carefully. Let the excess drip off.

  7. Sprinkle breadcrumbs over top until fully coated.

  8. Air fry at 350F for 15 min.
