Add turmeric powder, salt and a little bit of oil to the fish, rub it well and set aside
Make a smooth paste of ginger, garlic and tomatoes
Heat oil in a pan and fry the fish lightly on both sides for about 2 to 3 minutes
Take the fish out
In the same oil add cumin seed and let it crackle
Add the chopped onion and cook until the onion is soft
Add the tomato paste and cook until the raw smell is gone
Add the red chili powder, turmeric, cumin and coriander powder and cook until oil comes out
Add salt and water and bring to a gentle boil
Add the fish and cook for 2 minutes
Add coconut milk and gently mix, cook for another 2 minutes
Finish off with chopped cilantro
Serve hot with rice
