In a deep pan or sauce pot, heat extra virgin olive oil over medium heat.
Sautee garlic and onion until onion is translucent.
Add salt, pepper, and dried oregano. If you prefer to use all fresh herbs, use ¾ teaspoon of fresh oregano.
Add tomatoes, and bring to a boil.
Reduce temperature to low heat, and simmer for 5–10 minutes. The longer you simmer, the thicker your marinara sauce will be.
Stir in basil and you’re done!
