In the crockpot on low before you go to bed: Add the tomatoes, baby tomatoes, diced yellow onion, olive oil, peeled garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
The next morning: Use an immersion blender to smooth the soup. Add some broth if you would like to thin it.
Top with some heavy cream and freshly grated parmesan.
Serve with some crusty bread or a grilled cheese sandwich.
