Crispy Homemade Air Fryer French Fries
  1. Peel potatoes (optional) or keep skin on for rustic fries.

  2. Cut into even sticks (about ¼–½ inch thick).

  3. Place cut fries in a bowl of cold water.

  4. Soak for 20–30 minutes (or up to 1 hour).

  5. Drain water completely.

  6. Pat fries very dry using a clean towel or paper towels.

  7. Toss fries with olive oil, salt, paprika, garlic powder, pepper.

  8. Mix until evenly coated.

  9. Preheat air fryer to 180°C (360°F) for 3–5 minutes.

  10. Add fries in a single layer (don’t overcrowd—cook in batches if needed).

  11. Cook: 15–20 minutes total

  12. Shake basket every 5–7 minutes for even crisping

  13. For extra crisp: increase to 200°C (390–400°F) for last 2–3 minutes.

  14. Taste and add extra salt if needed.

  15. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
