Macarona Bel Salsa (مكرونة بالصلصة)
  1. Boil the pasta, being careful not to overcook it

  2. Fry the chopped onion in oil until browned, but not burnt

  3. Add 1 tbsp of sugar and let it caramelize for about 30 seconds

  4. Add 1 tbsp of tomato paste and cook it down until it darkens a bit

  5. Pour in 1 large can of unseasoned tomato sauce

  6. Add ½ - 1 tsp each of salt, black pepper, and cumin, or adjust to taste

  7. Pour the sauce over the cooked pasta and toss to coat

  8. Save any leftover sauce in the freezer for next time
