Soft Sourdough Bread
  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer combine starter, water, oil and sugar. Mix until starter is dissolved. Add flour and knead with dough hook on medium speed until dough comes together in a soft ball. Cover bowl and let rest for one hour.

  2. Add salt and knead on medium speed for 8min. Transfer to a greased bowl, cover and let rise until nearly doubled in size. Depending on the temperature of your room this could take 6-10hrs.

  3. Turn dough onto a clean work surface. Gently form into a tight loaf shape, transfer to a greased loaf pan, cover and let rise another 1-2 hours or until very puffy.

  4. Preheat oven to 425F. Spritz loaf with water right before baking. Bake 25 min at 425, then lower oven temp to 375 and bake another 20-25min or until center of loaf reaches 195F.

  5. Remove from pan right away and spritz lightly with water or brush with olive oil. Cool, slice and enjoy 😊
