Add the melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed banana. Whisk the mixture until well combined.
Sift the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder into the bowl. Stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
Gently fold in the chocolate chips or your preferred add-ins.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Spread evenly.
