Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a loaf pan (8x4-inch or similar size) or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
In a separate bowl or measuring cup, mix the milk, honey (or sugar), and olive oil (or melted butter). Stir until the honey dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The dough will be sticky but manageable—don’t overmix. If adding optional mix-ins (like cheese or herbs), gently fold them into the dough at this stage.
Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula or wet hands. Optional: Sprinkle the top with sesame seeds, oats, or grated Parmesan for added texture and flavor. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let the bread cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve warm with butter, jam, or your favorite toppings.
