Sandra's Homemade Yoshida Sauce
  1. Combine soy sauce, ½ cup dark brown sugar, ½ cup white sugar, grated onion, ginger, and garlic to a large saucepan.

  2. Bring mixture to a boil, and then reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes.

  3. Pour the remaining dark brown sugar and white sugar, and honey into the saucepan.

  4. Bring to a boil (the mixture will rise and foam), when it doubles in size, remove the pan from heat, and cool.
