Bring ½” of water to boil over medium high heat.
Load a steamer basket with the eggs, then add them to the pot and cover.
For soft-boiled eggs, cook them for 6.5 minutes, for jammy eggs, cook them for 8 minutes, and for hard-boiled, cook them for 13 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and run them under cold water for 30 seconds to stop the cooking.
