Combine ¼ cup warm water, 1 tsp yeast, ½ cup flour, and a pinch of salt.
Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
Cover the dough with a tea towel and let it rise for 30-40 minutes.
While the dough is rising, prepare the filling.
Add a little olive oil to a pan and cook 100g pork mince.
Add 2 Tbsp Hoisin sauce and 2 Tbsp water to the pork.
In a separate small bowl, mix 1 tsp cornflour with 2 Tbsp water.
Add the cornflour mixture to the pork and cook for about 5 minutes until it bubbles.
Let the filling cool down.
Once the dough has risen, divide it (e.g., into two larger portions).
Assemble the bao buns by placing the cooled filling inside the dough and pinching the sides together.
Place the assembled bao buns into a large silicone muffin holder.
Fill the rice cooker ⅓ with water.
Place the muffin holder with the bao buns into the rice cooker.
Cook for 15-20 minutes.
