Heat treat the flour by microwaving for 1 minute 20 seconds, stirring frequently, then let it cool fully before using
Mix together 4 tbsp heat-treated plain flour, 2 tbsp granulated sugar, and ¼ tsp baking powder
Add 40ml water, 25ml oil or melted butter, and ½ tsp vanilla extract to the dry ingredients
Stir in 1-2 tsp festive sprinkles
Pour the batter into a mug or mugs
Microwave on medium-low heat, watching carefully so it doesn't overflow, until cooked through
Make the icing by mixing 2 tbsp icing sugar with 1 tbsp milk
Top the cooled cake with icing and festive sprinkles
Serve and enjoy
