  1. Rinse the pork ribs thoroughly with water.

  4. Remove the pork ribs and set aside.

  5. Trim the ends and cut into large chunks. Set aside.

  6. Clean the cucumber thoroughly and scrub with a bit of salt under running water.

  7. Trim the ends, slice in half, and remove the seeds.

  8. Cut into large chunks.

  9. Add pork ribs, carrots, and old cucumber into a large pot.

  10. Pour in water and bring to a boil.

  11. Reduce to the lowest heat and simmer for about 4 hours.

  12. Add salt and mix well.
