Orange Tofu
  1. Press a block of extra firm tofu for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture

  2. Tear the tofu into bite-size chunks

  3. Toss tofu with oil, onion, garlic powder, and salt

  4. Coat the tofu with cornstarch or potato starch until fully covered

  5. Air fry at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes until golden brown and crispy

  6. While tofu cooks, prepare steamed rice

  7. Mince garlic and ginger, and slice scallions

  8. Mix half a cup of orange juice with soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch, and orange zest in a cold pan

  9. Add a drizzle of oil and optional red pepper flakes to the pan

  10. Add the minced garlic, ginger, and scallions to the pan

  11. Heat the aromatics together until fragrant

  12. Pour in the sauce and let it simmer until thickened

  13. Toss the crispy tofu in the orange sauce to coat

  14. Finish with a splash of toasted sesame oil and fresh scallions

  15. Serve with rice and steamed greens or smashed cucumber salad
