Press and cube the tofu. Marinate with salt and garlic powder for 15 minutes.
Combine all dry ingredients for the flour mix, then split in half. Mix one half with 125ml water for a wet batter.
Dip tofu cubes in the wet batter, then coat with the dry flour mix.
Fry in oil for 3-5 minutes per side until golden. Drain on paper towels.
Sauté garlic in melted vegan butter, then add soy sauce and syrup. Simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add sriracha for heat, if desired.
Enjoy alone or with your favourite grain.
