Heat up all of the ingredients, except the arrowroot flour and vanilla extract in a medium pot. Whisk until smooth and combined.
Add the arrowroot flour and whisk well. Keep whisking for a few minutes until the mixture thickens a little. Then add the vanilla extract and remove the pot from the heat.
Place this mixture in the fridge to chill for a few hours, then add it to your ice cream maker.
