Mix yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl and let sit for 10 minutes until foamy
In a large bowl, mix flour and salt
Add yogurt, oil, and the activated yeast mixture to the flour mixture
Mix and knead by hand or mixer until soft and smooth, about 6-8 minutes
Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30-60 minutes or until doubled
Punch down dough and divide into 6–8 pieces
Roll each piece into a ball, then flatten and roll into an oval or circle about ¼ inch thick
Heat a cast iron skillet or nonstick pan on medium-high heat without oil
Place naan in the pan and cook until bubbles form (1–2 mins), then flip and cook the other side
Brush with melted butter or garlic butter immediately after cooking
