Make mulling spice simple syrup: Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Add cloves, nutmeg, star anise, ginger, and a peel of orange to the pan. Heat until it comes to a simmer then cover and remove from heat and let steep for 15 minutes. Strain and let cool.
Add ½ ounce mulling spice syrup to a fresh glass. Squeeze half an orange into the glass and stir to combine.
Fill the glass with ice and top with Spindrift CranRas. Stir and garnish with an orange peel, star anise and cinnamon stick. Cheers!
