Continental Slice
  1. Lightly grease a 18 x 28cm pan. Line with baking paper.

  2. Combine butter, sugar and cocoa in a saucepan. Stir over low heat until melted and combined. Blend in egg and vanilla. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute.

  3. In a large bowl, combine crumbs, coconut and walnuts. Mix in butter mixture. Press firmly into pan. Chill until firm.

  4. FILLING. In a small bowl, using an electric mixer, cream butter until pale. Sift icing sugar and custard powder together. Add to butter alternately with hot water. Spread over base. Chill until firm.

  5. TOPPING. Melt chocolate and Kremelta in a saucepan, blending well. Spread over custard layer. Chill until firm. Cut into squares. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
