Parmesan Crusted Turnips
  1. Cook the Turnips:

  2. Place peeled turnips in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil.

  3. Cook for 20-30 minutes, or until a knife easily pierces through.

  4. Drain and let cool slightly.

  5. Prepare for Roasting:

  6. Preheat oven to 375°F.

  7. Place turnips on a clean kitchen towel or paper towels.

  8. Gently press each turnip down until about ½-inch thick.

  9. Let drain for 15 minutes, then flip to dry the other side.

  10. Season and Assemble:

  11. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  12. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or nonstick foil.

  13. Arrange flattened turnips on the sheet and brush with the garlic-oil mixture.

  14. Sprinkle Parmesan on top, pressing down gently.

  15. Carefully flip each turnip and repeat the process on the other side.

  16. Bake to Perfection:

  17. Bake for 20-25 minutes.

  18. Flip each turnip and bake an additional 15 minutes until golden and crispy.

  19. Garnish with fresh chives and serve hot.
