Amish Onion Fritters
  1. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a bowl.

  2. Stir in milk until just moistened.

  3. Fold in chopped onions.

  4. Heat ½ inch oil to 350°F in a heavy skillet.

  5. Drop tablespoons of batter into hot oil.

  6. Fry 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.

  7. Drain on paper towels.

  8. Serve warm.
