California Roll
  1. Wash and rinse the rice in a large bowl, then soak and cook it in a rice cooker with water and kombu.

  2. Make homemade sushi vinegar by combining rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a saucepan and heating until dissolved.

  3. Once the rice is cooked, discard the kombu and drizzle the seasoned vinegar over the rice, slicing and fanning it to cool.

  4. Prepare the fillings by cutting the crabmeat, cucumbers, and avocado.

  5. Assemble the sushi by spreading rice on nori, adding fillings, and rolling tightly using a bamboo mat.

  6. Slice the roll into pieces and serve with soy sauce and optional toppings.
