  1. Soak and rinse 1 lb of red kidney beans.

  2. In a large pot, add 1 Tbsp of oil and 1 lb of smoked sausage.

  3. When it's crispy, remove it and set it aside.

  4. Then add in diced peppers, onions, and celery and plenty of minced garlic.

  5. Season with some Mrs. Dash garlic and herb and some Tony's.

  6. Then add a tablespoon of some chicken flavored Better Than Bouillon, the beans, and the cooked sausage.

  7. Then you're going to add in one fully cooked smoked turkey leg.

  8. Add in 5 to 6 cups of water, some more seasonings, three bay leaves, and some dried thyme.

  9. Let that come to a boil, put the lid on, and reduce the heat to a simmer.

  10. After an hour and a half, flip that turkey leg over and add another cup of water.

  11. Cook for another hour and a half, then remove the turkey and the bay leaves.

  12. Remove the skin and the tendons from the turkey and shred it up.

  13. Use a potato masher to mash up a few of those beans.

  14. Stir the turkey back in and let it simmer for another 30 minutes.
