Beat butter until creamy, then mix in powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
Stir in almond or vanilla extract and maraschino cherry juice until evenly blended.
Gradually add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.
Gently stir in chopped cherries and chocolate chips.
Roll into 1-inch balls, flatten slightly, and place on baking sheet. Bake for 12–14 minutes.
