Slow Cooker Steak Bakes
  1. Add the diced beef, onion, garlic, Henderson's Relish, mixed herbs, salt, and pepper to the slow cooker. Cook on high for 3 hours or low for 5-6 hours until the beef is tender.

  2. 30 minutes before the cooking time is up, stir in the cornflour mixture to thicken the sauce. If you prefer a thicker filling, repeat this step.

  3. Once cooked, allow the beef mixture to cool slightly. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 200°C (fan 180°C).

  4. Roll out the pastry and cut it into equal rectangular shapes. Place 2-3 tbsp of the beef mixture onto the center of half the pastry rectangles.

  5. Brush the edges of each filled pastry piece with egg wash, then place another pastry rectangle on top. Press the edges together and crimp with a fork to seal.

  6. Score the top of each bake with a few shallow lines, then brush with egg wash.

  7. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

  8. Let them cool for 5 minutes before serving – perfect with HP brown sauce!
