Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a skillet, heat a splash of oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant and softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the cooked ground beef and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Remove the skillet from heat and allow the filling to cool slightly.
On a floured surface, roll out the pie crust to about ⅛-inch thick. Cut into 4- to 5-inch circles.
Place a spoonful of the beef filling in the center of each circle.
Fold the crust over the filling to create a half-moon shape, then crimp the edges with a fork.
Beat the egg and use it to brush the tops of each hand pie.
Place the hand pies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
Allow the hand pies to cool for a few minutes before serving.
