Combine flour, spices & bicarb in a large mixing bowl
Melt together butter, sugar, treacle & syrup until combined on very low heat
Allow to cool for 3-4mins before adding to dry mixture and stirring with a wooden spoon
As a smooth batter forms, add milk & stir again until combined
Pour batter into a lined cake/loaf tin & bang twice on the counter
Place into preheated oven & bake for 30-40mins at 180c until a skewer comes out clean
Leave the cake covered until serving to maintain a sticky top!
