Orange sugar syrup
In a pot add the sugar and orange juice and mix on low heat until sugar is dissolved.
Orange Icing
Whisk everything together until a smooth thick glaze is formed.
Preheat your oven to 170C.
In a bowl whisk together flour, salt, baking powder and set aside.
In a bowl add sugar and orange zest and rub it between your fingers until the sugar changes its color.
Now add eggs and vanilla and whisk until pale in color.
Add melted butter, oil, yogurt, orange juice and mix.
Add all the dry ingredients slowly and mix until just combined. Don't over mix or the cake will be dense.
Pour the batter into a lined 8” loaf pan and bake at 170C for about 45-60 mins or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Pour the orange sugar syrup on the cake as soon as you take it out of the oven.
Let it cool for 15-20 mins then take it out.
Pour the icing once the cake is completely cooled down.
